Custom Marathon Medal Materials
Zinc alloy
The most commonly used material is zinc alloy, which is ideal for die-cast marathon medals, especially for those with complex or 3D designs. Zinc alloy offers excellent casting performance and allows detailed, thin-wall, and high-precision shapes with smooth surfaces.

Bronze and Red Copper
For simple or premium-style medals, high-grade bronze or red copper can also be used.
- Red copper is typically used for true hard enamel medals.
- Bronze is often used for soft enamel, imitation enamel, or non-color designs.
Some manufacturers use iron to reduce costs, but iron medals can rust easily and are generally less durable.
At EnamelPinCustom, we primarily use high-quality zinc alloy or copper to ensure professional-grade results.

Gold or Silver
If needed, we can also produce medals in precious metals such as gold or silver—mostly for collectible or high-end award medals similar to those used in major international sporting events like the Olympic Games.
Types of Custom Marathon Medals
1. Based on Coloring
Marathon medals can be divided into enamel medals and no enamel medals.
Soft enamel marathon medals
Textured surface with recessed color areas. Affordable, vibrant, and great for detailed designs.

Hard enamel marathon medals
Smooth surface with polished finish. More premium and durable, ideal for high-end events.
Non-enamel medals (no color)
Keep the natural metal look for a clean, elegant, or antique-style finish. This is often chosen to highlight the metal texture or 3D sculpting.
We can also add glitter to the enamel to make specific elements stand out.
Based on your artwork, our team will recommend whether your design is better suited for soft enamel, hard enamel, or no color.
2. Based on Dimensional Style
2D medals: Flat surface with layered relief.
3D medals: Sculpted depth, ideal for characters, animals, landscapes, and high-detail artwork
3. Based on Medal Shape
Standard shapes: round, square, rectangle
Custom shapes: irregular outline, cut-outs, hollow areas, spinning elements, or any shape you want
